A tradition of making batik is found in various countries; the batik of Indonesia, however, may be the best-known. Indonesian batik made in the island of Java has a long history of acculturation, with diverse patterns influenced by a variety of cultures, and is the most developed in terms of pattern, technique, and the quality of workmanship. In October 2009, UNESCO designated Indonesian batik as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
In this tour you will be invited to Giriloyo Tourism Village, which is a hamlet under the foot of the hills Imogiri. A famous hill in the southern region of Yogyakarta because that is where the kings of the Islamic Mataram kingdom are buried. Giriloyo keeps the cultural heritage as a center of batik craftsmen in Yogyakarta. You will be invited to learn paint batik with traditional tools.

The experience start at this time. When you have arrived in Giriloyo Tourism Village, you’ll be welcomed by your tour buddy and the local guide from the village. The local community will serve you with a traditional snack and drink.
After you finish with the snack and drink, the local instructor will explain about the History of Kasongan Village and the intro of how to make a traditional batik.
